Conjunctions - समुच्चयबोधक Conjunctions are the words that join and link two or more sentences or two parts of a sentence together. समुच्चयबोधक शब्द दो वाक्यों को या वाक्यों के दो भाग को जोड़ता है । Common Conjunctions are - and, but, or, nor, for, yet, so, although, because, since, unless, when, while, where etc. Example: He is sitting at the dining table but he is not eating. (The conjunction "but" joins two sentences (1) He is sitting at the dining table. (2) He is not eating.) वह खाने की टेबल पर बैठा है परंतु खाना नही खा रहा है । (समुच्चयबोधक शब्द "परंतु/but" दो वाक्यों को जोड़ रहा है - (1) वह खाने की टेबल पर बैठा है । (2) वह खाना नही खा रहा है) । Types of Conjunctions There are mainly two types of Conjunctions Coordinating Conjunction Subordinate Conjunction Coordinating Conjunctions Coordinating conjunctions are used when we want to join two equal parts of a sentence. These parts are similar in importance and level in our speech. Coordinating conjunction शब्द तब प्रयोग किये जाते हैं जब हम वाक्य के दो बराबर/स्वतंत्र भाग जोड़ना चाहते हैं । ये भाग महत्व और दर्जे में हमारी स्पीच में समान है । (e.g. And , Now ,But , Still , So , Only , Therefore , For , However , Hence , Either...or... , Neither... nor... , Both... and , While , Then) Examples: He has applied for a job therefore he has joined a coaching class. I requested him but he did not give his pen. Everyone has finished their lunch hence they are going to sleep. He has either purchased a shirt or a pant. Do not talk over mobile while you are driving. He is hungry so he is crying. TOP उसने नौकरी के लिए आवेदन किया है इसलिए उसने कोचिंग क्लास जॉइन की है । मैने उससे रिक्वेस्ट की परंतु उसने अपना पेन नही दिया । हर एक ने अपना लंच खत्म कर लिया इसलिए वे सोने जा रहे हैं । उसने या तो शर्ट खरीदी है या पेन्ट । ड्राइविंग करते हुए मोबाइल पर बात मत करो । वह भूखा है इसलिए वह रो रहा है । Subordinate Conjunctions Subordinate/Subordinating conjunctions join subordinate clause with main clause of the sentence. Subordinate clause is a combination of words which requires main clause to complete the meaning and sentence. Subordinate Conjunctions are used to join the words or group of words which are dependent on each other. Subordinate conjunction शब्द उपवाक्य को मुख्य वाक्य से जोड़ते हैं । उपवाक्य उन शब्दों का समुह है जिसे वाक्य का पूरा अर्थ व्यक्त करने के लिए मुख्य वाक्य की जरूरत होती है । Subordinate Conjunction उन शब्दों या शब्दों के समुह को जोड़ने के लिए प्रयुक्त होते हॆं जो एक दूसरे पर निर्भर हैं । (e.g. if, before, how, once, since, till, until, when, where, whether, while, after, although, because, how, provided that, as soon as, even if, Examples: Please complete your homework before your paapaa comes. Please inform me as soon as he reaches. He will go to London if he gets Visa. He will not agree to marry her even if they offer him a big flat. Although he studied hard, he could not qualify the exam. Since he has crossed the age of 25 years, he could not apply for the job. तुम्हारे पापा के आने से पहले, अपना होमवर्क पूरा कर लो । कृपया जैसे ही वह आए, मुझे सूचित करें । वह लंदन जाएगा अगर उसे वीज़ा मिल जाए । वे अगर बड़ा फ्लेट देने का ऑफर करें तब भी वह उससे शादी के लिए तैयार नही होगा । यध्यपि उसने कड़ी पढ़ाई की, पर वह इग्ज़ैम में पास ना हो सका. चुंकि वह 25 साल से बड़ा हो गया है, इसलिए वह नौकरी के लिए आवेदन नही कर सका । TOP : Home : Essential Grammar : Learning
